‘Wazir’ disappoints even ‘Chalk N Duster’ tanks at the Box Office

The existing week is proved as one of the dullest ever for the Bollywood, with an average occupancy of under 5% of 5000+ screens in India that were exhibiting the two Bollywood movies. This was disappointing by every standard and this is solely because of the dearth of the solid content.

The newly released movie of the week, Chalk N Duster, was forgettable and ‘no-show’ from the day one. However, there were mixed reviews that came its way but due to the lack of marketing and promotion, coupled with the small number of the audience watching the film meant that word of mouth was too wasn’t there. The numbers were so low that no official collections came into the picture either. As per trade analyst Komal Nahta, the film would struggle to go past even the 2 crore mark.

Wazir benefitted to a some extent because of zero competition around. It managed to bring in some moolahs in the second week with little over 9 crores coming in. The film currently stands at 39.5 crore mark and would add a couple of crores due to the release of new movies. The collections have now crossed the lifetime collections of 37.5 crores of Farhan Akhtar’s last solo released film Shaadi Ke Side Effects which looked impossible a week ago, even that is not much of a solace for Wazir.
