Now all eyes are set on Akshay Kumar’s film ‘Airlift’s’ box office fate

Airlift Theatrical Trailer

Like every year, January has begun on a tepid note. Wazir has failed to impress the audience, and moreover, there are no other notable releases in the month for the first three weeks. Ghayal Once Again was to release tomorrow but its sudden shift to February has left the slot empty. This could have been picked by either Mastizaade or Kya Kool Hain Hum 3 if the slot was available earlier. But due to the last-minute postponement of Ghayal Once Again means that even that is not possible.

So as a result, the only release of the week is Chalk N Duster, which wasn’t promoted properly. Even the promo of the film is not impressive. The Shabana AzmiJuhi Chawla film would have a limited release in certain pockets of the country. Now movie’s critical acclaim will only help some audience trickle in.

Wazir‘s performance is lackluster during the weekdays, which means it would get maximum screens in the second week too, but it won’t account for much as the momentum hasn’t been created. There would be slight advantage for Bajirao Mastani to gain more numbers which would make a couple of crores. Dilwale‘s collection in lakhs which is on a lower side.

That means all hopes in January 2016 now will lie with Airlift. The film has been enticing the audience ever since its first teaser has been launched. The Akshay Kumar starrer has been promoted satisfactorily too and has created a good buzz so far. The film is just one week away from the release and most probably it has been pitched well enough to generate some good footfalls on its release.
