I am bagging on my character from ‘Krishndasi’ to get stronger roles: Indira Krishnan


Actress Indira Krishnan is associated with showbiz for over a decade now, is of the view that audience with a realistic approach prefers more realistic shows on the small screen.

“Over the years, you are showing the same thing it’s so repetitive. You really don’t know what audience likes. Suddenly you see a show like ‘Naagin’ working so well. But people like us, who are so realistic, would prefer some other shows, which are more natural and realistic,” Indira told IANS in an interview.

 The actress, who will be seen in the upcoming TV show “Krishndasi”, is based on the untold story of the devadasi community, feels “it’s very difficult for us to actually say what works (with the audience)”.

Does she think now it’s the end of ‘saas-bahu’ sagas as there are many mythological and reality shows are presented on the small screens?

“I hope so… even I am tired. I didn’t do much work last year because I was waiting for a good script. Though I got a lot of offers and it was typical,” she said.

The “Firangi Bahu” actor further says she feels lucky for waiting for a content like “Krishndasi” and adds that she will “pray that it doesn’t move out of this content”.

Indira has also acted in movies like Tere Naam, where she played superstar Salman Khan’s sister-in-law, Hey Bro and Team: The Force.

Discussing her other projects in the Bollywood, Indira says she hopes to get a movie from filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali.

“I am begging on my character from ‘Krishndasi’ to get stronger character roles. Getting a film with Sanjay Leela Bhansali would be a great high for me. He is just brilliant,” she asserted.
